So now what?
It is getting just about time to go and hid, unless you are one of those individuals deeply into "family values".
The lunacy of christmas officially starts after the 4th Thursday of November in the USofA and it has likely already started here.
Retailers pray for everyone to make their year, please, please. I love the myths associated with the thanksgiving holiday. But they are myths.
In common parlance, a myth is generally considered a "mere story" — that is, a story that holds meaning for people, but the core of which is untrue.
Why it heralds a shopping spree likely goes back to FDR in the depression, at least down in the states. Though the modern or post war shopping frenzy is simply linked to the general increase in wealth and the increased importance of aggregate consumer spending to the economy.
The 3 stooges (Layton, Duceppe and Harper) and their individual gangs of fools and baboons will continue to make merry in the House likely until Layton self implodes with an above average level of moral indignation. He has even specified a day for his immolation. So what's the magic date? The 28th? Who cares!
On hummmm. What could the issues be?
It would be nice for someone to consider the future of the country. And please can we not have any policies bribing Quebec to stay.
How about some bribes to have Ontario stay instead. Recently, if any province has a reason to go it is likely this one. So enough with the redistribution transfers.
I doubt Harper will deal with this matter - transfers -in any realistic way - far too much of a gamble.
Layton we already know can't, even though he may say he will, because really one of the only reasons for his party is, in effect, the redistribution of income. So he is sort of stuck, but I'm waiting for him to entertain us as he tries to make a circle into a rhombus.
Hey maybe the next month or so can be entertaining after all.
